Choc peanut butter nice-cream

Seeing the decadently delicious looking nice-cream combinations filling my Instagram feed, I decided it was time to go beyond my regular recipe and get a little fancy.

After perusing my pantry, the beginnings of a brilliant nice-cream bowl formed in my mind. Once I brought this dream nice-cream bowl into being, my taste buds were sent to heaven. Yet no need to feel guilty for splurging on this delicious treat because it is free from refined sugar and is packed with nourishing goodness and important nutrients.

Choc peanut butter nice-cream


For the nice-cream base:
  • 2 frozen bananas, chopped
  • 1 tbsp cacao
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • Dash of soy milk
For the topping:
  • 1/2 fresh banana, sliced
  • 1 tbsp cacao nibs
  • Sprinkle of buckwheat
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter



  1. Add the frozen bananas, cacao, one tablespoon of peanut putter and a dash of soy milk to a blender and blend until a smooth consistency is reached. You may need to pause the blender in intervals and scrape down the mixture from the sides of the blender so that it blends into a smooth consistency.
  2. Scoop the nice-cream into a bowl and decorate with the fresh banana, buckwheat and cacao nibs before drizzling a tablespoon of peanut butter on top.
